Share these tutorial links in your syllabus, in class, or in canvas. Or else in-consultation with your liaison librarian, use the tutorials:

Before Class: Assign as an activity for students to complete as homework, and in class work through discipline-specific examples facilitated by your liaison librarian.

In Class: Start a classroom discussion based on the information literacy skills and concepts. Work through theACRL Information Literacy Framework with your class and a librarian.

After Class: Assign the library tutorials as a follow-up activity to reinforce the concepts of information literacy and academic formats and standards.  

Definition:  Information literacy is the set of integrated abilities encompassing the reflective discovery of information, the understanding of how information is produced and valued, and the use of information in creating new knowledge and participating ethically in communities of learning.  For a more detailed discussion, please refer to the ACRL Information Literacy Framework.
