Take a moment to enjoy the new exhibit on the second floor. This year marks the 25th anniversary of the Poynter Library’s acquisition of the John C. Briggs Collection of Ichthyology and Natural History.  A longtime faculty member at USFSP and former chair of the then-Department of Marine Science, Jack Briggs was a prolific scholar and avid collector of books related to the literature of the sea. His wife, Eila Hanni, was a faculty member who taught Economics on campus. Drs. Briggs and Hanni have retired, and now live in California. This signature collection includes many works published prior to 1800, and some dating to the mid-1500s.
