Online Learning Accessibility
Distance Learning and Instructional Media Services strives to ensure that both our website and the courses created with support from our office are accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities.
Online Learning courses are currently offered through Instructure Canvas, which received Gold Level certification for accessibility from the National Federation for the Blind. For information about the accessibility of this Learning Management System, visit Canvas’ Accessibility Webpage.

Student Disability Services
The mission of Student Disability Services is to create and maintain an environment at the university that is supportive to students with special needs and will grant academic accommodations to students with documented disabilities, providing them with an equal chance of academic success. For assistance with specific accommodations; please contact the Office of Student Disability Services.

Free Assistive Technology Tools
View a list of free Assistive Technology organized by access needs available as downloads or web-based tools. The list includes screen readers, screen magnifiers, text-to-speech programs, organizational tools, and more.

Library ADA Accessibility Tools
Nelson Poynter Library provides students with Accessibility tools that are available for use within the library which are provided by USF System Student Technology Fee. Though these tools require you to visit the library’s physical location they are generally more advanced than Free Assistive software. Located in POY 137 the Assistive Technologies Room provides visual and text-to-speech tools including JAWS, ZoomText, and Dragon Speaking Naturally. A Magellan magnification system, over-height table and oversized peripherals are available.
